Pony Days -

A pony day is for riders of any ability. Each child is allocated a suitable pony and they start the morning by being taught the basics of pony care and are assisted in grooming and tacking up. Afterwards, we give them a lesson in our schooling field, followed by a relaxed walk/hack. When we get back to the yard, we will have a break (please bring a snack), and then we will continue with various yard tasks. This might include:

  • picking out the horses feet again
  • plaiting manes/tails
  • cleaning/maintaining tack
  • refilling water buckets
  • pulling harmful ragwort
  • experiencing the joys of cleaning up behind the ponies! 💩

Activities will vary greatly on the day depending on the age and ability of the participants, the weather conditions, the time of year, etc. The list of potential tasks goes on! Finally, we will turn the ponies out in their fields before saying goodbye. For just £50, your child can have a morning of fun with their own pony! (Deposit of £25 required upon initial booking, with full balance necessary one week before the start date of the event). Our next sessions in the upcoming May half term are now fully booked, but further dates will added in the summer holidays.

Pony Weeks -

Pony Weeks are often the most popular event of the summer. Each individual is allocated a pony of their own for the 4 days. The Tuesday and Wednesday follow a similar format to a Pony Day, with grooming followed by a lesson or hack and then the opposite later in the morning. Activities such as a quiz or treasure hunt usually follow. On Thursday everyone heads out for a long ride and meets somewhere to have a picnic lunch with their ponies! Friday is a very relaxed 'show day' with Handy Pony, a showjumping course (poles on the ground for some!) and gymkhana games. Prizes for various events throughout the week are then awarded at the end. Please note that we have no plans to run any pony weeks in 2022

You will only be booked onto an event if you speak to a member of staff.
