COVID-19 Updates

17/07/2021 - If clients find that they have to self-isolate for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible. If anyone in a household is asked to do this, we respectfully request that nobody from that family group visits us until everyone has finished the isolation period and are negative for Covid-19. We have a duty to protect our clients and staff and will continue to minimise the number of people in the yard at any one time, to reduce the risk of spread of this virus. Your help and support in this matter is much appreciated!

26/03/2021 - We are very pleased to be able to welcome our old clients back from 10th April! However, if you have not already done so please contact the yard, preferably by text to 07410914010, to confirm your appointments. We have many people keen to ride and we need to know if we can offer them your slot. Also, please fill in an up-to-date registration form so we can fit everyone on appropriate horses/ponies as many of the children will have grown in the last 6-12 months! Many thanks and hope to hear from you soon!

10/03/2021 - We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming our clients back from Saturday 10th April.

🐴 We will be in touch with our weekend clients shortly to confirm which weekend they are due to restart their riding session. Can weekday clients please contact us to re-book.

🦠 All COVID-19 restrictions must be maintained as they were previously. For example, wearing gloves and maintaining social distancing will still be mandatory. We are also currently unable to allow spectators and all payments are to be made in advance via BACs.

📝 Could all existing clients please fill in an up to date registration form as many of our clients may have outgrown the ponies they used to ride, so we need to know everyone's height and weight again, as well as all other relevant details. For our convenience, please also state your usual time and day of riding at the top of the form: tinyurl.com/Riding-Registration

✨ Thank you very much & we look forward to seeing you all soon!

07/03/2021 - We are pleased to announce that we are hoping to reopen in mid-April. The exact date is yet to be confirmed. We will be in touch with weekend customers within the next few weeks to confirm which weekend they are due to be riding and at what time. We will only be able to take bookings for weekday slots after we have officially confirmed our opening date. Please note that there has been a price rise for private and semi-private lessons. Please continue to watch this space for further updates and thank you for your patience and continued support!

05/01/2021 - Due to the third national lockdown, Palmers Riding Stables are sad to announce that we will remain closed until restrictions are lifted. When we are able to begin riding sessions again, we will post further details on our website and social media pages. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you all again in the future. Stay safe everyone!

30/12/2020 - Unfortunately, due to the continuing high numbers of COVID-19 cases, we have decided to remain closed until at least Friday 15th January 2021. Thank you for your patience and continued support, and please keep an eye on our social media and website for further updates.

19/12/2020 - Following todays announcements about Berkshire going into Tier 4, we have decided that, even though the stables is in South Oxfordshire in Tier 2, most of our customers will be coming from Reading or other areas of Berkshire, and therefore it is in everyones best interest that we shut completely over the Christmas period. We are hoping to open again on 2nd January 2021 and will be discussing our opening arrangements nearer the time, depending on further COVID-19 restrictions and government rules and guidelines. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for further updates.

26/11/2020 - Palmers Riding Stables are pleased to announce that we are re-opening on Thursday 3rd December and are looking forward to welcoming our clients back. Can clients riding during the week please contact the yard to reorganise their sessions. Fortnightly weekend riders will be due back on the corresponding fortnight. If you are unsure which weekend that falls on, we can let you know. If you are unable to ride, please let us know so we can cancel you.
Please note that all previous COVID precautions will be taken to minimise risk to clients and staff eg. wearing gloves, masks, hand washing, BAC payments etc. For those clients who travel greater distances to get to us, please check your local tier level. We are in Tier 2. Anyone in Tier 3 is unable to visit a Tier 2 area. Please follow all government guidelines regarding COVID symptoms, self isolation and social distancing. Thank you for your continued support!

2/11/2020 -  Following COVID-19 restrictions we are once again going to be unable to open from Thursday 5th November until at least Wednesday 2nd December. Hopefully, we will then be able to begin the regular sessions in the week and at the weekends. Please follow our website or Facebook for further updates. Please stay safe and thank you for all your continued support.

25/8/2020 - We are happy to invite some of our more novice riders back to riding from September, but in a different format. You must wear gloves & face masks are optional but recommended. We are able to lend hats, which we sanitise after use, but would strongly advise you buy your own as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we are still unable to welcome all our helpers back, but when we are able to do so we will let you know. Thank you for your continued support!

15/7/2020 - From 5th September we will be restarting regular weekend lessons for all abilities but in a different format. There will only be up to 4 clients in a lesson. There will be fewer lessons so we can sanitise the tack between lessons. If any of our regular customers are interested in coming back please contact us so we can organise times: 07410914010

17/6/2020 - Following government guidelines we are now able to offer semi-private lessons and hacks for groups of 2 or 3. This doesn't necessarily just mean family groups, although social distancing between riders of different households must still be observed. These are available during the week or at the weekends. Clients have to have their own equipment and be able to do their own stirrups and girth. If you wish to book please ring the office on 01189472496 or mobile 07410914010.

21/5/2020 - Following government guidelines, Palmers Riding Stables are pleased to announce that we are able to open on a limited basis from 1st June 2020. We are able to give private 1-on-1 lessons and hacks to clients who are at an intermediate or advanced level of riding, following a strict hygiene protocol and social distancing rules.  All clients…

  • Are to wear gloves
  • Are to provide their own riding hat and boots
  • Must be able to alter their own stirrups and girth once mounted
  • Must be able to ride unaided without the need for a leader or close contact with the instructor
  • Are to arrive in the car park and we will bring the horse to you so you can mount in the car park. No spectators are allowed by the school. If children are brought to the yard, their parent/guardian will have to wait in the car until after the lesson.

If possible, please do not use public transport. The tack will be sterilised before and after each lesson. All payments must be made in advance by BAC. To book a lesson please contact the yard on 01189 472496 or 07410914010.

Keep an eye on Facebook and our website for any further updates.
